We aim to build community through shared learning and reflection.
Living Room Lectures is a platform for queer people and their allies to gather, share, and connect through thoughtfully designed events. What began as an intimate lecture series has grown into a broader set of experiences that bring friends and strangers together for learning, conversation, and connection.
At the center of what we do are Living Room Lectures. These small, cozy gatherings invite a guest speaker to give a short talk on a topic of their choice, but with one essential rule. It has to be queer. Some speakers draw from their established expertise, others explore something new, and many use the format to spark dialogue around ideas. You can explore past talks in our archive.
Alongside these lectures, we now host a range of events that play with how queer people meet and engage. These include debates, salons, performance, and other interactive gatherings, all designed with the same goal to build community.
Living Room Lectures began in October 2023 as a private salon in our living room. The response to those early gatherings led us to expand into these public events.
